Best Cleaner For Polished Fuchs?
I've been an advocate of Mother's Mag Polish for a long time. Tonight after spending 2 hours cleaning my overdue, rain spotted polished lips I began wondering if there are any better products out there that make the job a little easier.
Thanks, Gordo

Mothers with a buff wheel is ok. Mothers with a hand job is a ng. It's too gritty. Pelicanhead "copper" just did a thread on this.

I need to clean mine up also. I'll check "copper"s post but any additional ideas would be appreciated. I'm beginning to miss the original finish and vaseline treatment for its easy clean up and maintenance.

After you use the mothers (I use Eagle 1 - Same thing).
Apply a polish with Jewellers Rouge. It will smooth out any of the remaining fine marks and leave an amazing mirror like shine. Plus, because the rouge starts as a hardened material and has to be 'melted' onto the polishing wheel, it will somewhat harden on the wheel, thereby adding some protection. I am looking into other options for longterm protection however also. Clearcoats are not the answer, but there is another product, mentioned late in my recent thread, which is supposed to last up to 2 years and won't chip off. The thread is "Jewellers Rouge - WOW" Jim

Thanks. I assumed that after polishing the wheels I'd have to add some wax to protect the polished finish. I had the wheels polished professionally about 4 years ago and shouldn't complain about the finish since I really haven't done a thing to them to keep them shiny except to wash them along with the car.

Some people use Carnuba, I've heard mixed results.

After I had them polished, I had Al Reed put a clear powdercoat finish on. All I have to do is wash them along with the car.....no fading or dulling
