I just recently installed a JVC MP3 CD deck with two Pioneer 6x9's and a 12" Sub bridged on a Kenwood amp. The amp is under the passenger seat, and the speakers and sub are on the rear seats. I dropped the seat backs down and it makes a perfect tray for the system. I never take backseat passengers anyhow.
It thumps. The twelve is nice. It's a 350 Watt California Profile in a custom box. Such a small space, it's all the sound I need. The backs of the rear seats make a perfect deck to lay out a sub, or even a double sub enclosure.
The car never had door speakers or any in the dash. At some point, I wouldn't mind buying one of the under dash finishing kits with the built in speaker grills. This would be a nice addition.
Still have the original Gelhard speakers on the rear deck, but they are toast, so they are just to look at...
