magnesium engine block
 
Got my copy of the BMW magazine today in which they claim to have a world premiere: the first magnesium engine block. They probably missed out our 30+ years old 911's ;)

Engine block is different than engines case!

This fact is countered by the fact that M3's have a cast iron block. How archaic.
