Question What's the purpose of this front cooler?

Starting down the upgrade path for 87 930 Turbo...

Under the front bumper laying horizontally and protected by steel mesh and tubing...what's the purpose of this cooler? I'm getting ready to put a B&B front oil cooler and discovered this. Sorry I don't have pics and not knowing what it is, I don't know what to search for.

Thanks.

Ah...I know about the evaporator, but forgot about the condensor. Thanks.

My buddy used to have a 73 mustang we used to cruise in as teenagers. He used to say that about items in the engine bay.
"What is this?" He'd ask me.
"I don't know."
Pulls it out and chucks it.

My advice, if you don't know what it is, just do what he did, chuck it

Funny guy that guy. We used to roll up hotdogs in aluminum tin foil and place it on the V8 block. After 10 minutes, they were nice and juicy.
