Hunting / Bouncing Tach
I saw something posted on this recently but was unable to find it upon searching...
The tach in my 77S seems to have a mind of its own since I changed the points. Once the car warms up, the tach creeps up to 2500 RPM while the engine is idling and if I'm cruising at 50 mph in 5th gear, the tach will creep up to 3500 RPM and be erratic. What causes this? The car is in prety good tune and it running fine otherwise.

Even though you just replaced them, recheck the point dwell. Are the points securely mounted? Jim
