Pleasant Torsion Bar Surprise - Pics
Hello,
Tonight I began disassembly of my front suspension to generally go through all the bushings, brakes and sway bar, as well as finally dial in the ride height. I had an "oozing" rear A arm bushing, and a torsion bar adjuster that was out of range for lowering, so I thought I would pull the torsion bars out and see what was in there. I assumed stock, but found these babies instead! Anyone know what brand they might be? I don't know what is in the rear, but based on these, I am assuming maybe 30mm's. This car rides great, but handles poorly due to the worn bushings everywhere. It also desperately needs an alignment, corner balance, and front-end lowering, which I will take care of now. Everything came apart really nicely, and now I am waiting for some parts. I will be going with Elephant of course! Here are a few pics: ![]() ![]() ![]()

John,
Congratulations. This is my first time to see someone able to remove the rubber bushing around the torsion bar without cutting it up and 'torching' it to death. |

Weltmeister/Sway-Away.....
The only other brand available seems to be Sanders....for a while RTR were available. These usually come bare, not white. I think there are only two USA manufacturers offering these in different labels nowadays..Welts/Sways or Sanders. Wil
