Bent Shift Rod?

Last week I posted a question about the transmission shift rod seal on my í74 911. I didnít support the transmission when I removed the engine, so the seal started leaking (learning the hard way . . .). The machine shop guy that did some of my rebuild work told me that I probably bent the shift rod (without seeing it). I still havenít replaced the seal, although I successfully pulled the transaxle. Besides the angle looking a bit off, it looks okay to my inexperienced eyes. Does anyone have a different opinion from looking at the pictures below, or can anyone suggest a test that I can perform? I want to avoid pulling the engine again to repair something that would be easy to do now.
