Does 5W-30 + 15W-50 = 10W-40?
If my manual--okay, it's the Boxster manual, I'll admit it--suggests 10W-40, which Mobil 1 doesn't seem to make, can I mix three quarts of 5W-30 and three of 15W-50 and get a sumpful of 10W-40, or am I missing something?

From what I know and read that will work.

If I recall correctly, this was discussed some time this year. You may want to search and see but I believe the answer is: yes, 5W30+15W50=10W40.

Mix 5W-30 and 15W-50 to yield 10W-40?
Here is the thread from a while back. Becuse of SAE standards mixing is OK.
