Another emissions thread...
Hi all
Just got back from the emissions stations. Bad news the '87 failed. HC passed so did CO% The only failure was NO. Below are the readings ------Limit---Reading---Result HC----130------52------PASS CO----.80------.46------PASS NO----957-----1333-----FAIL In the past when I failed with my other cars all readings were bad. Generally a new cat and an O2 sensor would cure the problem. From the results I am inclined to blame the chip. From what I understand high NO readings are mostly caused by advanced timing (which is exactly what the chip does) Being that the HC and CO readings are well within norm, my guess is the O2 sensor is doing it's job. I changed my oil right after our dorki run last weekend. Plugs, air filter, fuel filter, etc were changed about 4-5 months back. Always run on 93 octane fuel. Is there anything else I may be missing? |
borrow a computer and try again.

I posted on the local board to see if anyone would swap for a day...

Could be a bad cat too. That's what they replaced on my 92 Grand Caravan w/ 3.3 when it failed NO.
