SC coupes w/o sunroof

Did they make any SC coupes w/o sunroof? I've only seen European models w/o sunroof.

Their hard to find. Most US dealers ordered SC's with a group of options that were popular at the time, ie Sunroof , AC , power windows.

I think the sunroof became "standard" in 1980 so any US model after that would have to have that option deleted. I have seen such cars but they are not common. 78 and 79 seem to have no sunroof more often, because in the case where the dealer didn't pile a bunch of options on (special order, perhaps), the sunroof would not have been included as standard.

I like the euro models w/minimal options, window crank, no sunroof. Gotta consider one of these too.

I got an 81 w/o sunroof US car. The PO ordered it that way with special colour, but nevered tracked it. Next step for me is to delete some other "junk" like the AC for starters!

Cheers!

Here's mine! Its a euro no sunroof, no AC, crank windows. I love the fact that it is "missing" all those things. It seems that nost people spend a lot of time getting rid of these things!!!

I will take two please. They are rare to find in US cars. On my sunroof coupe I had to bolt my Sparco seat to the seat brackets to make room for the helmet. I don't even want to think of the weight of the surnroof motor and mechanics in the worst spot possible! I wish someone would make a good delete panel but all I found so far is fiberglass for race cars.

I just saw a bahama yellow SC with the deleted sunroof today. It sounded like *****! Sounded like a bunch of loose bolts banging around in a tin can.

I followed the two kids (early 20's) for a block or two and wished I could just take it away from them.

Jim, I've decided on indecision. Do I go for a 72 or 73T or a backdated SC? I've got my eyes open and will watch the market.

I love the 72 and 73 T's, but the untreated metal makes me think it'll rust from under me. Maybe a backdated SC would fair better. I plan to drive on every good day.

What's your thought? Can I get away with a 72 or 73T on just good weather days and drive my japanese clunker on bad weather days?

How much diff is it between a non-gavanized and galvanized? Will those cars rust from inside out, or am I overcautious?

In addition, clean examples of T's are commanding a premium and in the neighborhood of SCs.

Yes, you should drive an early car on the nice days. Let me say one thing about the galvanized 911's, I have seen rust on some SCs and Carreras. Many of these cars have had bodywork (either resprays or collision repairs) and rust happens. Some are undamaged, unblemished, have original paint and are still rust free. If you want a backdated car, there are some metal panels that get disturbed. I think either way you go would work; however, the early cars are typically lighter, and sans any power assists and that's part of the character that makes them special. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

I'm here to ask enough questions to weigh the good and bad of both. I'm an engineer, and make decisions based on pro/cons (don't bode well with the wify decisions), so I'm still building my list. But my desire is for a long nose gal (or I'll have to cosmetically change, plastic surgery her - plastic surgery can be GOOD)
