Classy or Tacky??

I am similar to many of the guys on this board and cannot leave well enough alone. Anyway I've been eyeing the replacement door handles with teh Porsche crest and decided to make my own. Bough a couple Porsche tie tacks and glued them onto my existing door handles. Cost me $15! What do you guys think - cheesy or in good taste? Thought it would match my stainless sills with the crest.

I probably wouldn't do it.

It isn't any more a Porsche with them or without them.

To my eyes, it seems unneccessary. That said, if you like it, go for it!

They look fine. I would go the next step and get the aluminum door handles and mount them on those. That would look good.

They're not tacky to my eyes. I think they look good.

Now, if you start putting little logos all over the car, that might be a different story...

My aluminum handles came with the crest. They look just like yours. Also have the crest on the steering wheel and the floor mats.

If you had the crested door threshold plates then it would be the bomb!

I like them. They do not appear gaudy or kitschy in my opinion. I finally sprung for the crest for my steering wheel from Pelican Parts and will be putting it on as soon as it arrives. One can overdo it by placing crests all over the vehicle as well as on the breast pocket of every shirt and blazer one owns but this does not look overdone.
Thank God there is not just one way to make our rides look good.

I like it. Adds a bit of color to the door.

If you "blackened" up the handles it would look better-imho
Also where are your little round cheapy looking stickers !
(why did porsche put them on the door handles of a £38K car heaven knows)

It looks ok, but it's not my cup-o-tea. Personally I'd rather just have the plain aluminum door pulls.

Honestly? Tacky, tacky, tacky. Badge whoring just ain't my thing, too bling bling. (I'm a poet and don't know it, errrr, or maybe I do, well, a BAD poet anyway....) IMHO, they both look bad (pulls and sills alike). Porsches are cool for what they are, not because they are Porsches. There is no Porsche crest on the "soul" of a Porsche. If the factory chooses to put crests on a car for identificaiton/ornamentation, that's fine, but I don't feel one needs to add to that. I can see ordering seats and the like with the crest embossed for those who like that look (I kinda do), but if the factory doesn't offer a crest, I don't need or want to be pimping up my car beyond that, and even then it's well, kinda questionable. If you like it and it makes you happy, fine, but I don't. $0.04 YMMV.

Maybe if you would have milled the ridges off around the outline of the emblem so it was properly recessed rather than looking like it was stuck on top.
