Garner, I just pulled my entire interior including the rear window and headliner. The lower corners of the headliner in the rear were held in place by what looked sort of like a piece of heavy cardboard/fiberboard. My car also had some metal tabs in the rear window tray that had sharp points on them, I believe these were pressed through the headliner and the other material and then bent over flat. Hopefully someone will be able to verify this with pics, but I think that's how it all came apart on mine and it was the factory original headliner. Good luck!

vanwyk4257 is correct,I don't have pics but I removed my rear shelf to do some clean up work and there are 3 to 4 tabs, each tab is about an inch long and about 3/8 wide and about .030 thick or so,the headliner material comes down the pillar and when it meet the flat portion of the shelf you make a right angle bend,"stab" the material over the tabs, then on top of the headliner material you "stab" the cardboard/leather like material over and then you fold the tabs over,it's just holding the material in place, you then reinstall the shelf and it looks fine.Sounds complicated but it's real easy once you see it.
