it was a broken spring plate! SC lowered and cleaned...

well, what I thought was just a brake job turned into a broken spring plate that the guys at TRE Motorsports found. THIS was the the cause of the low ride height in the rear that I had noticed. Evidently instead of fixing this spring plate, the PO had the left side lowered to match the broken sagging right side!

The plate connects with two bolts and my mechanic showed how he thinks improper washers were the cause of one of these bolts buckling and snaping off. (little thin washers were totally mangled) So after the spring plate was replaced I had them lower the front end and raise the rear back up to euro height and I think it looks fantastic. Tip to buyers: don't forget to take the wheels off in your PPI just cause you are too concerned with head studs.....I think my mechanic and I missed this one. :(

anyways, I picked her up today and treated her to a wash with the help of das908kind.

Here is the ride height compared.....what do you think?

Much, much better!

Now you just have to get some 8's to fill those rear guards out!

:D

damn! i knew i would get that.....trust me...i thought about spacers while they were doing it, but i'm going to save up for some real 8's and move my 7's to the front.

my car was sitting next to jack olsen's black beauty at TRE and i couldn't help but notice how skinny my 7's look!! although jack's rear end makes a tandem wheel F350 look skinny so i shouldn't feel that bad. ;)

Nice look!
I second the 8" rear wheels.

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous!!!

Just fitted 8's to mine. Thing is the 7's really fill the front guards out as well to give a much more balanced look. The whole car looks meaner and more planted to the road. I never really liked the look of the 6's either with that flat face.

This is the best shot I have with the front wheels straight...

WOW, it looks awesome all polished up! I'm glad you are enjoying it, it really looks fantastic. How does it handle now compared to before?

we will see on sunday morning! ;) you coming? haven't really had a chance yet to "test it out". but already the rear end feels less clunky and more solid over uneven surfaces. There is definately much more travel in the rear now.

Jeff, the car looks great. I havn't seen it since GAF. I an itchy to get out. This work thing is really getting in the way of all the fun. If I can get my tires this sat, I'll do the run. If not, I may go out to see you guys and hope to have breakfast with you, 908kind, and the rest of the pcar gang.

Jeff

The SC looks way too nice. Needs some numbers on the side and a trip to your local track for some DE time :D
