Any way of identifying synthetic oil? I would like to 'top' up my recently acquired '79 911SC before I put her away for the winter. The last shop that performed an oil change (~500 miles ago) - arranged by the PO - put one of those window stickers on the front glass identifying the viscosity of the oil as 15W-40. My question; is there any way of knowing if the oil currently in the engine is synthetic or not? I can't imagine it would be a good thing to mix. |

No problem mixing synthetic and conventional oil. They mix just fine. |
