George Follmer on 'Wind Tunnel'
For those of you with SpeedChannel coverage, two-time Trans-Am Series Drivers’ Champion and world-renowned race car driver George Follmer is scheduled to appear on Speed Channel’s call-in show, “Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain” tomorrow (Monday, Oct. 18). The show airs nationwide at 10 p.m. (EDT). Follmer won his Trans-Am Drivers’ Championship in 1972, driving an AMC Javelin. He won the Can-Am championship that same year (Porsche 917/10), making him the first driver in history to win both titles in the same year. He scored his second Trans-Am title, driving a Porsche Turbo RSR for Vasek Polak, in 1976, just his fourth full season in the Series. In 67 Trans-Am starts, Follmer has 13 wins, 38 podiums, 45 top fives and 52 top tens, as well as 17 poles. Follmer began his Trans-Am career in 1967, as teammate to Mark Donohue. Follmer also saw success in Indy Cars, NASCAR, Formula One, IMSA, IROC and Can-Am.

I picked up a George Follmer signature Momo steering wheel from Bill (nephew) years ago. It's on my 9146gt and it's gotta be worth 18 bhp !
