Winter Mats: Sources for good fit/quality?

Curious about where to get good winter mats for a 911 that fit well, don't move around, and keep the water and muck off the carpets.

I have some great ones for my Audi (Audi OEM) that are custom shaped to fit and clip into place via lugs on the floor so they don't move around. They are thick/heavy rubber with deep ribs/channels to trap and hold muck and water away from the carpets. I like them so much I run them year round in the Audi, why use the carpeted ones at all when they only get trashed in the process?

Anything similar for 911s?

Keep in mind that lots of these companies (I think WeatherTech is one) have a set of patterns that are semi-generic. They just have some model that fits a specific car pretty well, but the usually don't have patterns for each specific model at least in the rubber.

Most of the rubber and plastic mats I've seen are done by the OEM. you could cut some grooved rubber to fit but you wouldn't have a lip on the outside, which is one of the biggest benefits.

Just get the weathertech ones. Forget the "perfect fit"- it ain't a condom. What you want is protection, and that's what they do and very well too.

If you must, you can trim them, particularly the slit for the throttle pedal but limit your razor attack. The more coverage the better.

Your biggest leak would still be around the gas pedal. That's where your lugged winter boot would stay the longest, w/ snow melting off it and dripping right down the throttle onto the carpet and finally the throttle hinge. Even w/ a perfectly tailored mat you'd still have that cutout, so I'm not sure how you're going to avoid it, short of building a wetsuit type of contraption for your gas.

As for the other mat not fitting, it's a good thing because most of your passengers won't care about the car as much as you do so they will not be that careful. That's where the one-size-fits-all mentality of weathertech is actually a benefit. The bigger the mat, the bigger the "containment bowl" that's created for all the grunge.
