911 Racers at VIR (lots of pictures)
So I went the HSR event at Virginia International Raceway today, and it was a total blast. It was full of pre-73 911s, 70's RSRs and 914-6s. Some other non-stuttgart stuff, but mostly porsches...
Here are some pics... full set will be online soon Dave White Racing had some nice hardware including a Brumos 914-6GT Thats what I call traction! Dual plugged crankfire 2.5L short stroker More to come... Last edited by brittbolen; 07-10-2004 at 08:00 PM.. |

While not a 911, this 356 Outlaw was pretty bad-assed... for sale too, only $100K.
2.7L type 4 motor. Owner claimed to keep up with a 73RS in a drag race... 356 Carrera 2, unrestored. Type 574 motor, 4 cams, twin plug

Interior shot of a Dave White Racing car...
I'm not 100% sure what this one was, I'll have to check the entrant sheet, it was definitly fast... Another 911... I like the color aubergine, better than eggplant

If you can't get enough...
http://eludicate.com/~bolen/vir/ That is updated with all the photos I have in my database flagged with the VIR keyword... currently 495 photos... which is a dissapointing average of only 100 per race. I also have about a dozen rolls of film, but I don't have a scanner... but half of those were failed attempts at shooting pans... Next installment will be the SCCA event in a month... Britt |
