Flooring it in 2nd gear and hearing the opus coming from behind as the tach sweeps past 4k. With the top off, of course.

Pretty much everything, the engineering, the feel, the sound, the way it cornered, the way it accelerated, the way it smelled.

I agree with everything Steve mentioned especially the smell, no kidding. I think 911s have a unique smell. It must be the small drops of oil dripping on the heat exchanger that produces it.

The exhaust note and the "always awake" lightning handling.

Thats funny.. I was gonna say the smell, too. Everytime I get a whiff of that smell, even when it isn't my car.. I feel the need to drive it. Or in my case.. work on the dang thing.

jmarenas... you pegged it AGAIN!

I love the corner of Pontiac rd and going north onto Lapeer (on a green light) Off camber, elevation change, fast enough to drift all 4 every time with the back hanging out. Heck, I love every thing about my SC. Faults and all. I just flat out love my car.

1. The opportunities to be creative, both in mechanical work and driving.

2. Preserving racing history.

3. Doing all the work on my car.

4. Having the only car in my area, that's an early 911 from "racing" history.

5. Complements from knowledgable auto enthusiasts.

6. Knowing I have friends here on the Pelican Board, most who I have never met in person, but post in behalf of my (and my car's) well being.

7. Having a daily driver, of such unique nature, a race car for the street, inspires me to leave for work everyday.

8. Preserves (keeps the mileage down), on my "other" rides.

9. Encourages me to drive safely and responsibly.

10. Inspiration to improve.

11. Sheer driving accoustics, and "seat of the pants" feel of a raw basic performance machine.

No power steering, no ABS, no traction control, great handling, sounds like a dream in high RPM's, looks awesome and goes like stink!

The best steering feel and feedback ever..........
The ripping sound of the little 2.7 Webered boxer in back......
And the way the car drives and rotates about a center of gravity behind me...unique...

The essence is that the physical elements give the car a most unique character.

And yea, the old leather smell is a cool throwback too!

Oh yea! I almost forgot...looking out over those two fenders, and watching ithe way it patters and bounces is most enjoyable.

A view of the road and the scenery framed like no other........

Everytime I drive my car I fall in love with it all over again. People say that I bought it to impress people. Not so, I haven't had but one passenger in the car and I rarely drive it in populated areas except on the way to back roads to enjoy.

The crispness of the steering, the solid feel of the suspension, the sureness of the power that is always on hand when you call for it, the feel of the shifter, Yes.. the smell, the little maintenance intricacies that only a Porsche owner would understand and be able to tolerate, the lucky feeling you get whenever you drive it that you are fortunate enough to own one, not to mention the smile that is ever present on my face whenever I am driving my car.

I would have to say that there isn't just one thing that I like about the car that I can single out as my favorite. The engineering was so great that went into the car that it is just a complete package....and I like that package oh so much.

Regards and happy motoring!!

Brian
