differential removal
Anybody have a detailed procedure to remove the differential from a 901 trans.?

separate the CVs from the flanges, remove both flanges, remove side cover and lift out ring gear/diff. can be done in the car.

And I don't have to align anything or adjust anything on re-assy? Just slide the ring gear/diff. back in? |

Remove the CV flange bolt on the diff cover side first and check it for a teat at the end. If the that CV bolt has a teat on it, do not remove the second one until you remove the diff cover and then reinstall the CV flange along with the bolt. Then go around and do the other side.
Why: If the diff is the style in which the spyder gears are held in place by the teats on the bolt, and if you remove both of the bolts, you'll end up having the spider gears getting all out of alignment which is a real PIA to fix.
