Gas Tank compatibility

Hey Guys,

I am looking at replacing my old very rusted 74' CIS gas tank with an fresher 85 Motronic gas tank. If you look at the part numbers the gas tank is the same from 74' to 89'. But looking at the pictures they are different.

Here is my 74 tank :

Here is the 85 tank:

The 74 just has tube stubs, and the 85 looks like it has special fittings. Is there a way to adapt the 85 tank to my 74 and use it with CIS?

Thanks
