Factory Cab Roll Bar?

Anybody out there put the factory cab roll car into an '83? According to the guy I am considering purchasing one from there is a bracket behind the panel in the back where the speakers are that the factory bar bolts into. I need to check my car when I get home to see if my '83 has this bracket, but wanted to check the board to see if anybody else out there has any experience with this set-up?

Thanks

PS: This bar has different bolt-in locatations that the Das roll bar.

Check out this forum. There are some pretty good pictures of the locations. Good luck.

If its a factory item you should be able to get the part # and search that way.

Hmmm. I was at a local Porsche mechanic back in March and he showed me an OEM bar that he was about to install into an '86 cab. I believe it looked like brushed chrome. I remember seeing a Porsche part number on it.

I have built both welded in and bolt in cages, for the life of me i cannot find a single picture of the bolt in. The cage you showed above looks like something that comes from a factory prep'd car. A buddy of mine has a '60 356 Carrera with the 4 cam engine, aluminum hoods and doors, factory roll cage, lets just leave it at "the car is amazing". The factory roll bar mounts on tubing thats installed on the car during production. The bottom inside of the boxed frame rails get an extra plate on them, then a short tube welded to the plate with a hole cut out above the top section of the boxed frame. It sticks out about 2 inches, which the roll bar then slides on to and bolts to, and the diagonal braces bolt to the back seat hinge recepticals. Its a possibility that your roll bar is that kind of setup.
