Kumho Victoracers on the street

I just received a new set of Cup II's with the Kumho's on them. There is a fair amount of tread left, but certainly would only want to drive on dry roads.

Are these safe driving around town/highway in the cold here on the East Coast?

I'd like to wear them down fully, dismount, polish the wheels this winter and then mount some Pilots or whatever.

Are these the V700? they dont come with much tread, You are going to pick up a lot of stones with these around town and beat the hell out of your body, I would not do it, If you dont want them? what size are they? you can always sell them, to me?

They are 255 40 17 rear and 225 45 17 front

I am guessing they have at least one track day left, maybe 2.

You'll have a blast with them on clean, dry roads.

I ran the Victoracers on a different car and they were wonderful on dry clean roads. On a run in the hills, a friend of mine decided to give me a little more space, because i did pick up all debris and fling it at anyone following me.

On wet roads, however the Victoracers were not much better than slicks.

Also, I went through my set in about 4 months and I didn't take it to the track and only 1 auto-x.

We'll see how much longer my Falken's last, though. The guy said "see you in 3 months" as I was leaving after the install

I had victoracers on my 914, loved the way they handled, didn't love the way they wore out.

When it gets cold, they will be hard as heck. Hard as heck = no traction. BTW, how did you fit Cup II wheels on your '84? I assume wheel spacers, but what size? Did you have to roll the fenders? Sorry to take this off topic a bit.

Here is the car with Cup IIs I've had on it for a year. One of the best upgrades in a long list. Definitely had to roll the front fenders. I got spacers from Wheel Enhancement. Fairly certain they are 1.25 F and 1.5 R. They fill out the fenders very well. Traction is signigicantly enhanced with a much more confident feel than my 7x8x16 Fuchs with SO3's. Car also has Bilstein Sports, 22/29 bars, Chuck's polybronze bearings, strut brace, turbo tierods and had it corner balanced. It is very comfortable (I drive to NY all the time in a Momo Corse fixed bucket) with no real fatigue, yet it handles better than any other 911 I've driven.

The new Cup IIs are polished and while I've never been one for bling, I think they will look great on the car. Will post pic tomorrow.
