Can anybody suggest a good muffler to go on an SSI exhaust system. I have a 87 3.2 carrera.

Unfortunately the muffler I currently have sounds great at high revs, but around town (and especially below 3,000 rpm) it resonates something terrible. I would prefer a ss system but before I pay the $$ would like some recommendations. Cheers |

I have a 2 in 1 out SS Bursch and love it. Deep sound, not too loud, sounds great at full throtle. No resonence. Sounds like a Porsche should. PS I have a radio/cd player and don't know if it works...don't care. Alan

Monty, if you can afford them.

They make more dyno proven HP than the Dansk sport or similar OEM. If my memory serves me correctly, ~7hp more than the Dansk Sport. FYI: I run a Dansk Sport 2/1. Cheap but effective.

Dansk 2 in 1 out has a milder sound than the 2 in 2 out but still sounds really good. I had a Bursh, which had a great sound, but resonated around 3000 RPM's. It drove me crazy on the highway.

Try one that I make I am posting pics in a few minutes of some of my models. Most people love them. And I make one that is very resonable as far as cabin noise

Does Dansk make a 2 in 1 out Sport version? I have a Euro SC, which means no cat 2 in, 1 out similar to having SSIs. It seems on the Pelican site they only have a standard style, no sport option for 2in 1out. Also will this muffler fit on my SC without modifications? Anyone know?

I love my Triad something fierce. There is resonance below 3000 rpm, but that just causes me to drive it like I should (3000+ rpm). Above 3000 rpm, there is no resonance. Only a cross between F1 and NHRA. Truly a beautiful noise.

2 in one out sport version...that's an oxymoron. Sport mufflers usually refer to tips that exit in the middle under the license plate. Exept for the Boxster and some early 356s...never seen a single tip in the middle.

Typical muffs exit on the sides....some custom sport muffs will have a double in the middle and single on the side.....the one on the side can be capped and vice versa....race/street/sound issues determining how it is run.

I highly recommend Monty, dual in single out for the SSI's. Monty makes a very high quality muffler and I have zero resonance running either the Euro pre-muffler or the cat. The construction maintains the stock look with a slightly larger tip.
