accelerator on 83 sc has too much play
Hey out there anybody have any idea on this ?
when I push down on my go pedal it seems there's too much slack before it has any effect , nother words I have to push pedal down a bit, before I feel any resistance or effect on the engine rpms I saw all the posts about the bushings by the pedal cluster, would those be the ones that would effect the slop in the pedal? any ideas would be great. Don,
You can adjust the linkage at the rear or the motor on the left hand side. I dont remember if there is a adjustment just under the gas pedal. I did a rear adjustment on my car after a engine drop, works great now, Good luck. |
I have the same issue.
I rebuilt my cluster, that helped a lot. The bushings were flopping around and were worn out. I usually use the manual throttle lever to take up the rest of the slack. |
Not only do you need to adjust it to get rid of the slack but you also need to check at the throttle body. You want to make sure you are getting full Wide Open Throttle when the pedal is to the floor. Best FREE horse power you can get is from a properly adjusted linkage.
