Deluge in car - where from - help needed

Drove my 911 in very heavy rain yesterday while crossing Snoqualime Pass - water came out the circular footwell vents and made a soggy mess.....the engine ECU was almost swimming in water.

What the heck causes this?

The drain may be partially plugged which allows the water to escape from the HVAC system in the front trunk. Or, your front hood gasket leaks.

I have the same problem, and just tend not to drive in heavy rain much.

Yeah, it was the first time in heavy rain in 5 years -

You were probably going too fast with that new 3.6, causing a vacuum effect in the cabin sucking in the rainwater....

Really though, check that drain thingy at the bottom of the fan housing in your trunk. That's probably it. Seals are the next bet.

Maybe this can be an excuse to get a flat hood with no fresh air intake?
