Has this 911 been in an accident or is it a factory defect?

I'm interested in this 911.
Everything looks right except the way the fender flares up at the area of meeting the deck lid above the tail light. Passenger side.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.http://www.sportscarshop.com/cgi-bin/k9bytes.pl?command=showimage&image=510-NTXT3_2.jpg

I don't like the way it looks in the picture. Could you get some different angles?

Could be just the taillight seal, or the engine cover out of alignment.

Whatever the reason, you're going to see that forever. If it won't bother you after determining that the car has not been repaired, then you are more concerned about repairs. Almost anyone doing a PPI can tell if there was a repair. I can't agree with the lid alignment theory. The light box is not level with the left one.

At the very least, I'd remove the taillight to see what's up.

You won't truly know until you're standing next to the car with your hand on the fender.

I think it's normal.
Just needs to be adjusted , for this there are rubbers screws .

Likely is just an optical illusion.

One side of the bottom of the decklid often sits up higher than the other, because there is only one decklid shock. That shock is only on one side, so the decklid is being pushed up unevenly. As said above, that's what the rubber adjusters are for.

That's a very nice car!

I would imagine it's selling for an above average price so a good independent PPI is a must. They should be able to tell any wrecks during the PPI.

Good luck with it.

Yes, that's what the rubber bumps stops are for, to even it out. but, look at the imagery in the paint. The lid and fender are very close. Yet the metal lip of the light is not exactly straight. At least not the same as the other side. Being somewhat of a metal worker, it would bother me even if the car is not repaired.

Doesn't look like a deck lid alignment to me. More like a an upward sweep towards the top end of the right rear fender....
