3.2 into a 72
I am installing a 3.2 DME engine in my 72S. There are several wires that go to the DME box and the coil that need power both during start and run. I have located several fuses in the fuse box that are hot in run but none that are hot in both start and run. Any suggestions?
Thanks, David |
I know this is a mid year car but it may help.

DME wiring
Thanks Shawn,
I am familiar with the link, thanks. The 72 does not seem to have the same need for hot in start/run like the later CIS cars. Do you know where the power wire to the coil is hooked up in your 73? If it is a MFI car originally it should be the same as my 72, if is a 73.5 CIS car all bets are off. Thanks! |
I dont know if it was CIS or MFI. The engine was in the car when I bought it. I will look tonight at the coil and associated wiring and maybe get some pics of the wiring for you.

3.2
Thanks, I bet it was a CIS if was a T, I have a 73T (former CIS) I plan to make into a race car. Just the point where the coil wire is hooked up is OK, no pics necessary. However the Coil wire first goes to the DME box and then to the electrical connection, so there is probably no way for you to trace this, unless you look at the power wires from the DME box and there are several! Some to the battery, some hot in run/start.
Any help will be appreciated! |
