SC Fan Belt -- 710 or 725
Is there a quick indicator or measurement I can make to determine if my SC engine uses a 710mm belt or 725mm belt? What causes the difference, e.g., size of the crank pulley, outer half of the fan pulley, ??? BTW, during my engine rebuild, I have found some parts to be 78-79 vintage and other parts to be 80-83 vintage. Thanks, Duane

Do a search on "Fans" or fan-pulleys or my name...it's been discussed and there are differences based on both crank and fan pulley diameter differences.

Both are good vintage. Make sure that you follow the correct procedure and use the right tools. There are quite a few DIY's who did a sloppy job, wrecking the shaft where the pulley is mounted, or damaging the fan by sticking something into the fan blades to hold it back. $$$
