Well, after a week of scraping and sanding my gas tank I finally broke down
and had it blasted. After the blast I knew I had to spray it with something to avoid rust the next day. I opted for etch primer. Today was the final step for this lengthly process. During noon and after a couple of beers . I pulled out my sears sand blaster and started to coat it with wurth stone guard grey (1 bottle of 1000ml) I was somewhat disappointed with the outcome. I wish that the coating was thicker because it appears the PO had the tank repaired. The repair job was not very clean but I was not about to redo it. I think that if the wurth was a little thicker It would have covered this imperfection. Tank came out ok but not as good as I would have liked.Tank before Tank blasted ![]() Tank primered Tank finished

Regarding finally finished my gas tank
Great job if you ask me. Thanks for the info on the Wurth, I can say that the 3m Body Schutz would have been thicker, but not at all what you would have wanted texture wise...plus it's a mess. Isn't the Wurth water based too?

it is water based and you can clean up with soap and H2O. Hmmm Maybe if I would have given it more coats I would have achived that thick look??
