Coil, Maybe Wires?
I'm in the middle of a turn-over-but-no-start analysis. I know I have one badly corroded plug wire, I took it off. Can anyone tell me if an '83 944 will start on three instead of 4?

I'm adding more info to this problem. The origin of the turns-over-doesn't-start happened when I was driving. The car fired up beautifully and about ten minutes into my drive, everything went south. I tried to restart but the engine would not fire.

I hope your cambelt hasn't snapped. Can you see the camshaft or rockers through the oil filler cap hole? If you can check for rotating engine parts whilst cranking the engine. Also pop distributor cap and check arm moves either while cranking or rocking in gear. Good luck.
