If you want to engage your clutch later, the cable should be adjusted to be longer? Meaning the two cable-nuts on the transmission. I still want to keep the right adjustment of 1mm on the stop bolt but want the clutch to engage a little later when the pedal lifts off the floor. Any thoughts?

So you want to disengage the pedal further before the clutch grabs? This would mean that the clutch disengages earlier when pushing the pedal down too wouldn't it? If that is the case then loosening the cable would allow more pedal travel before there was leverage applied to the pressure plate. So, by this logic (and its late, so.......) tightening the clutch would allow the clutch pedal to be released further before the disc grabs wouldn't it?
Slop in the pedal/cable tension would cause the pressure plate activation to occur closer to the floor. The tighter, within reason, the cable is would bring the activation closer to the resting position. Tighter would result in less pedal travel necessity for clutch arm movement. It may not be clear but its better than nobody answering. Well maybe there is a reason I didn't go to Med School

Of course if you were meaning "engage" clutch as in reference to the pedal and not the clutch disc itself than everything I said above is just about inversed.
