Who Does a Good Job Mounting Tires in the San Francisco Area

I had a really bad experience at a wheel works last time and cringed at what they did to my poor fikses. Anyone have a positive experience with a particular shop, preferably close to San Francisco or in the Los Altos/Moutain View Area?

Thanks in advance,

David

i have had pretty good luck with a goodyear place on el camino in sunnyvale. they are right next to rooster t. feathers comedy club, which is between mathilda and sunnyvale ave. i usually have had tires mounted after a tire rack purchase there.

there was a horror story thread recently about tire mounting rim and underbody damage from jacking in the wrong spots. a couple of suggestios were given. remove, and take just the rims and tires in, as i do. take pictures of the rims in front of the place before turning them over to the monkey that will mount them, i had done this too in the past. lastly, i wait there and watch the guy doing the work.

good luck, and what type of tires are you mounting?

Custom Alignment in Mt. View. Actually, they may be in Palo Alto.

Reitmeir's Werkstatt in Los Altos.

I drive the 1/2 hour from San Mateo to have my tires mounted and balanced there. Jeff Reitmeir also accepts TireRack.com drop shippments.

I've used them with good results. They're right off the Rengstorff exit from 101. They accept TireRack drop shipments.

Devek is in Los Altos somewhwere and they have just spent $14k or so on a race/street tire machine, completely touchless I think. Also Custom did my corner balance on my TT and they were excellent.

If you don't mind a little drive, Roger Kraus Racing in Castro Valley, does a fine job of mounting tires. Always treating my car and myself very well.

Neilsen Automotive, El Camino Real, in San Carlos.
Also accept Tire Rack drops, have mounted probably 20 sets for me, zero issues, careful where they place weights and inexpensive.
Genuine hard to beat service.

Regards

Hayden
