Dansk Sound Studio and Catalog

Some of you may have found this link through our new ads in Excellence Magazine, but if you've not tried it, it's pretty cool.

Go to www.jpgroup.dk First, on the bottom of the screen, click on "English". After doing that, find the "Porsche Exhaust Sound Studio" on the bottom of the page. Click on that, and you can listen to all the various exhaust components we make. For models that have different components available, you can listen to them progressively. For example, on the Boxster, you can listen to the sport muffler only, then the sport muffler with sport cats, then the sport muffler with sport cats and headers. For the 911, you can listen with either a dual, or single out. The sound studio at this time only goes back to the 3.2 911.

In addition, you can also go to our new catalog section and build your own catalog. There you can see all the products we are producing for Porsche. The catalog you produce can then be saved on your computer as an Adobe PDF file.

Check it out, and let me have your feedback.

Thanks.

That link forwards me to something called "conviator." There's no mention of English or Dansk mufflers.

Sorry Scott. Link seems to work fine for me. If you're retyping it, maybe you spelled something wrong.

If you just click on the link in my original post, you'll get there fine.

Pretty neat. My thoughts:

1.) I commend you guys for trying to get this accessible for the consumer. Kudos for that.

2.) In general, I have found that sampling exhausts only works at speed, under load. Maybe an in car mike running a 1/4 mile would work.

3.) The red and grey colors are nice but, for example, on the 3.2 page there are two options. I assumed the one in red was the one playing but it's actually the one in grey that's playing. To me red means hot/active.

4.) Maybe you haven' t loaded everything yet but there aren't many options for the 3.2. I would want to hear all of the mufflers that could be attached (1in/1out, 1in/2out, 2in/1out, 2in/2out, 84mm sport, etc) on stock, straight pipes, or pre-74 exchangers.

5.) Again, it's a neat concept and easy to navigate.

this is great! top notch quality presentation.

But you are missing two critical components:

1. Stats: what hp claims are there for each muffler, etc.

2. A "buy now" button to a website where these can be purchased. A unique URL to test conversion to site/conversion to sales would be nice. Landing page would be customized to specific muffler link clicked and perhaps a special offer would top it off.

If you had to have several distributors on the page instead of being able to purchase it there, so be it, but also track who clicks over to where for the final purchase, and so on.

The Dansk dual out for the 3.2 has a nice deep tone, but lacks the traditional early "rasp" sound of Ben's (mb911) muffler. If the muffler is going to be considered "sport" it should have the distinct early 911 sound. The weight, at 14 lbs and made of 321 stainless, is also a plus.

I just shipped an SC muffler. With probably 2 lbs of boxing, scale said 27.5 lbs.

If Ben's is 14, that's a diet that works!

When I checked the UPS tracking for Ben's muffler, the package was listed @ 17lbs .

then I need a new scale. you know I just shipped a gas burner at 20lbs and got a note back from the buyer saying that there is no way it could have been that heavy.

all that said, it "felt" a lot heavier than 17 lbs, maybe I need to go to the gym

Hope that when Jan 05 comes around I'll have one.

I just recently installed a MB911 2 in 2 out muffler and on my bathroom scale it was between 14 and 15 pounds.

Mike,

Any time you want to do a sound byte with a set of 1 5/8" headers coupled with your Dansk dual in and dual out stainless sport muffler w/ 84mm tips, let me know. The combo sounds awesome and would guess is well below the California db limit.

Couldn't be more pleased with the combo!

Ralph

Thanks for the input, guys. This sound studio has been in the works for a long time. We actually have one of every model vehicle at the factory for testing and research. There will be more to come in the near future, and those updates will address some of the points you've brought out.

Thank you.
