Cast Wheel repair
I know Fuchs can be reshaped, but how about cast wheels?
I have a BBS RC that was dropped and the bead is very slightly bent outward. I went to a couple wheel places locally, but they both said no. Thought it might be a TUV thing.

Having lived in Ger. I imagine that its a TUV thing. Believe it or not, very local salvage yards around here will sell you wheels. They will not sell bent wheels.

TUV is the German regulatory arm for the automotive industry. Very tough and if its got TUV approval, its good. They are very difficult to work with and each and every car on the road must have a TUV approved inspection every two years.
They also approve all parts that are not OEM and if you want to bolt on a set of wheels for your car, it not only has to be TUV approved, but has to be on the "approved list" for your car, then stamped in the registration before you drive it. Putting anything on the car that is not approved is just asking for a ticket from the Police. Here in America we change wheels and tires as we wish, but not in Germany. One tire size too big and not listed in the "brief" (registration) and life becomes difficult if a cop stops you. Only exception are people like GeorgeM who are active duty military who get a military inspection, which is about 90% easier than TUV! We used to buy cars that would not pass the civilian inspection for a song and drive them for years with military tags on them. A small spot of rust will cause the car to fail, while the military inspectors could care less as long as its not structural. JoeA

The guys at Wheel Collision were helpful, but said they couldn't (nor could anyone else in the US {?} ) exactly match the brilliant silver finish of a BBS.
I did, however, find a place in Hannover called Pro-Felge that does the same work and can match the finish. After some email exchanges that included some photos... they said "keine problem". I mailed it to them and should get it back sometime next week to the tune of about € 150. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I was at a Porsche shop the other day, and the mobile wheel repair truck was there, fixing all sorts of Porsche wheels. Although it probably won't help you much in Germany, I think the concept is great...they come to you!
