Will 17" wheels fit on a 73 911 that has rear flares and stock 73 front fenders. The rear flares are 8's.
I am looking at the Mille Miglia Cup 1 wheels in 17X7.5 front and 17X9 rears. What size tire is the best if this works? Someone must have done somthing similar. ![]()

17's are fine. It's the width that can cause trouble.
My '73 has 17 x 8's on the front, but the fender lips have been rolled. The normal nomenclature for flares is the wheel width that works. An 8" flare should clear an 8" wheel. Why not try to borrow a set from a local pelicanite to see if they fit? |

I currently have 16X7's on the front with 215-40X 16's and 16X 8 on the rear with 245-50X16's. The 17's would be track tires and hopefully DOT's. Choices are slim at the 15" range and 16 wheels are getting harder to find.

Look here for some great info on wheel fitment. It's geared to SC and Carrera, but your car has the same flares
