HELP!, Repaint, or not to repaint?

Looking for an opinion from the group. I just picked up an '84 Carrera. Overall in excellent shape with original paint.

There is however a small crease in back of the drivers fender down low and the drivers side rocker has been dented in the front. The fuel filler door latch is also partially broken and as a result the fuel filler door should be replaced. All of these items are isolated to the drivers fender and my first thought was just to have them repaired and have the paint shop blend the work into the rest of the car.

Here is the problem. I'm anal. I used to show my old Porsches and enjoyed spending my free time detailing them.

As I went over the '84 there are the usual nicks and chips scattered about especailly on the front bumper, mirrors and hood. So that has me questioning at what point do I repaint? Are there pros or cons (aside from the money). Would oyu just repaint the high traffic areas or is this stupid.

I'm struggling with this because from 3 feet back the finish looks great and with Meguires cleaner and 3M Hand glaze and good wax it shines like glass.

Thanks!

What is the color now? Some are much easier than others to match and blend. Black is a home run!!

Well unfortunately for me it's kiln red metallic (though I love the color).

It has faded from the original but as I said it still had a great shine.

Can a good Paintless dent removal tech remove the crease?

Ugh..

That is a hard match!!! Not impossible, but about as tricky as it gets.

I'd leave it alone until something "bad" happened! Or, do the whole car, windows out, etc...

Cheers,

Chris
