7" all around

has, or does anyone here with a sc or carrera run 7" rims all the way around? what would be the draw backs, other than not have 8's for the rear, or clearance problems up front?

any pics if so?

this would be a set of AX and track tires.

I think the reason why they went to offset front to rear rims was because of the balance of the car around corners but not positive

I posted many time before that I run 7" front / 7" back on my 85 Carrera with stock torsion bars and limited slip. I feel it gives me more neutral balance on the track compared to 8 or 9 rears. Trying to tame understeer. Still running 205 front and 225 rear tires.

are they the ones on your car now, or a spare set?

I have 2 pairs of 16x7s (4 wheels in all). One set is has polished lips and paddles, the other is stock. These were going to be my "track" wheels but Im looking at other options now that Im putting on flares.

No....running SO-2's all around as a combo track / street tire.....the whole car is set up this way, a delicate balance point for a mostly-street-but-some-DE car......

I run the 7's all the way around. 205/225. The rears are on 21mm spacers. The car has a complete Elephant Racing suspension and ltd slip. The car is very nuetral on the track. I can get it to oversteer or understeer very easily. Very, very easy to drive. Car has way more ability than I do. On the autox the only difference that I noticed was a reduction in slow speed understeer and an increased abilty to move the rear around with the throttle. lots of fun.

Do I still want 8's of 9's for the rear? Yes.

Jeff
