pics of 993 lights in 964 fenders
here`s some pics of my car sporting the custom fenders with 993 light buckets. My friend Tony at Precision Conversions made these a few years ago for me and a guy in Puerto Rico.We both bugged him for a while and he went ahead and made the molds.l did it for the aero advantage but l think it looks great.

That does look cool. It looks like the kind of Werks I factory "special" conversion that Porsche would do for a company executive or something. Also, I dig the hay on the garage floor.

thanks guys. The hay is temporary,l converted our hay barn into a shop and haven`t got the slab done yet,or the door.Priorities.l bought the 935 carbon fiber mirrors from Rennspeed l think and they were about $275.00 .The carbon fiber door handles l made by getting the skins from Tony @ Precision Conversions and then grinding down the stocke 84 handles and bonding the skins on with epoxy.Carbon fiber is my friend.

It looks good. You need some wheels that have a black center and polished lip (some Kinesis would be perfect) to finish off the "raceman" look. Another trick piece that would look slick on your car would be the RUF drip-rail fillers in carbon fiber.

I remember that some Turbo S versions of the 964 had the 993-esque looking lights. These look similar to that look. Awesome mirrors. They look baaad.

l`ve actually got the drip rail/A-pillar strips but l haven`t decided how l want to mount them.l hadn`t considered painting the wheel centers, that might look good though if l powdercoated a satin black for the spokes and left the rims silver...

Are all 3 of your rear lights clear? You have any pics and where did you get them?
Thanks Eric |

Obviously not to everyones taste here, but I like the individual taste in its construction. Not TOO ricey in my book. I might have gone with a more 993esque wing, but it is cool.
Come on, more photos...hows the interior styled, any CF in the engine bay yet? Any CF for the rockers or more seriously a splitter. CF parts that enhance performance is not ricey, but racy! After the flares, are you going spacers or wider rims?

I like it. Would have been a good 'factory look' for the 964. Too bad porsche didn't do that a few years sooner....

thanks a lot amigos. The front fenders are fiberglass.l could have had them done in steel but it would have been pretty pricey. The carbon fiber rockers are being made now,the GT2 flares when they`re done.l have carbon fiber splitters already mounted(look close). l know this isn`t to everyones taste but l think most people seem to like it so far.l`ll post pics of the interior in a day or so,plenty of black and red leather and some cool mods that the exterior hints at.As far as the engine bay goes the massive intercooler takes up most of the view. When the flares come l`ll probably go with spacers at first and eventually upgrade to a modular wheel. This is getting more fun as the car nears completion. Thanks again for the cool responses

Like everything except the clear tails.
Red interior might be kinda bright for a champagne bodied car.

l went with the clear lights all around for the monochromatic look,l didn`t want any color at all on the outside. The red/black interior contrasts strongly with the exterior, all part of the master plan. The red calipers tie things together. They look cool anyway.l`m really loving the simple narrow body look right now so when l get the carbon flares l`ll sticky them on first and see if l like it.l think l will.l had held off on widebody because they`re slower but with the extra power from the turbo conversion l don`t think a flare kit will slow me down much.

raceman,
Very nice! Where did you get the CF brake ducts and the CF front splitter? I have the same wheels on my '90 powder coated satin black. I'll take a picture tomorrow if you're interested. Is that color linen metallic?

thanks guys. John l`d love to see the wheels in satin black, thanks. l bought the ducts and splitters at the Pomona swap from Tony/Precision Conversions.l try to get all my parts from him,he`s a great guy and does really good work.He has ALL the stuff for Porsche, fiberglass and carbon fiber. He`s doing 996 conversions on early cars! proportions are challanging but they look great.l think he does a lot of cars for the movies also but anyways, tell him Rick from New Mexico sent you and he`ll know what you`re after.Tony #310-320-0007 or 310-930-4114

Do you still have the original tail lenses? Would you care to part with them? Please e-mail me.
