Hope I get this right. My husband noticed that the fan that is supposed to cool the engine was not going on at low speeds. He used the bentley book to run a check on the electrical. Then the ac stopped working. He then took it to the mechanic who ran a diagnostic and said the "brain" works. Now the mechanic says the "brain" may not be grounding...and that that is why the fan might not be working. THEN the guy that owns the building where I work said that he had a porsche and that if you remove the negative cable on the battery for 10 secs it can reset the elec which seems to have been effected by hubby's bentley directed test. I wish I had listened better to all my husbands descriptions over the last 3 weeks! Now spouse says he does not think he should remove the neg on the battery as it will "reset" everything. Me thinks he just wants to avoid looking like an [Oops!] at the mechanic's. ANY ADVICE APPRECIATED. This is my car and I miss it!!!!

What?
I'm really not sure from your description what your problem is. But if you want to remove the cable from the battery it wont hurt anything. It mitt reset a problem. But it wont reset a hard fault.
