brushed-look trim?

In the April 2003 edition of Excellence there is a 912 with a brushed-look finish on its window frames.. anyone have an idea how this might have been accomplished... it looks quite good, imho (at least in the photographs it does).

If that's one of the Emory built cars (Parts Obsolete) then I'd bet the trim was powder coated silver, I've seen this on a local race car and it looked fantastic IMO...
