Clutch Thickness
I've checked the past threads and can't find an answer.
I got a clutch and P-plate from a race shop that does conversions on a lot of the Pcars up here for racing in Group 70. This clutch was removed from a 901 tranny for replacement with race parts. The clutch has minimal usage. I'm just trying to figure out how much. It is a 4 spring clutch for a 69 911 with the 901 tranny. 215 mm dia. and the clutch is showing a thickness of 8.5 mm. Does anyone know what the thickness is on a new Sachs clutch so I can gauge this? Thanks Jim

I asked the same question yesterday because some wanted to give away a clutch PP and to bearing and someone told me a clutch is considered worn out at 6.3MM Dont know if thats accurate. Hope it helps. Mark

Jim,
A '69 clutch disk is 9.8 mm +/- 0.4 mm when new, and the wear limit is 6.5 mm ... per the spec book.
