Please post pic of clutch pedal stop

I think the PO cut out the floor board and removed the clutch pedal stop, probably since he could no longer adjust it properly. I now have a new cable and the pedal comes all the way up for the first time. I need to come up with a way to stop it on the way down so I would like to see a pic of how its supposed to look. Thanks.

Yeah, I'm looking for the floorboard stop. Does pelican sell this part? Would it come with a replacement kick panel? That is a clean cluster...

Hey,

Is that a fuel cutoff switch? I just refurbed my cluster and I have the same vertical plate but no switch attached. Is my 72 missing it or do I have a newer (replaced) cluster?

I believe that swith is for the brake lamps. The fuel cut off switch is on the airbox.

POS

I take it you are looking for the hunk of rubber that clamped down to the wooden floorboard. That's what the clutch pedal/travel adjustment amounted to.

Don't think I have any pics but can desribe: It was a C shaped peice of metal that had a hunk of rubber slid into it. It bolted to a slide (cut out surrounded by metal) on the floor board so you could move it up and down. The lower you adjust it, the less travel you get with your clutch pedal (the pedal or pedal arm contacts the rubber).

Poor design at best, gets mushed, crushed and distorted as you stomp the clutch. I looked for the parts to replace mine about a year ago and couldn't locate it. I was missing the rubber peice and the C peice was smashed. I ended up bending the metal C back in shape and put in a peice of rubber from something I had sitting around.

Good luck, Gordo

that's right, it's the brake light switch... the little metal arm/lever you see coming out of the switch (pointing to 7 o'clock) is spring loaded and when you push the brake in, the large washer releases the tension on the lever and activates the brake lights.

Incidentally, if you want your brake lights to light up sooner (like newer cars) you could just bend the lever a little further away from the washer, or conversely file down a bit the part that rests against the washer.

Thanks Gordo, sounds like I need to fab something or get a new kick panel and adjustment part. The PO did a number on the kick panel trying to get the pedal to go down far enough for the clutch to engage.
