Squeaky, Creaky Front Suspension

My 1981SC has suspension noises, PO fit it with turbo tierods and urethane bushing which he said would creak or squeak, (not sure which) Any way if something was wearing or worn out would this be the symptom? If so which is the worn part or parts?

Thank you

The PO is correct; urethane bushings will creak and squeak.

This does not neccesarily indicate they are worn out. They sometimes squeak when brand new, sometimes they start after some miles. But they most all squeak sooner or later.

This was the first real problem I had with my 1976 911.

I realise that you have had confirmed that your bushings might squeak but is it the front only?

I replaced the rubber parts in the steering & suspension.

Can I suggest you get under the front and rear and have a look at all of the rubber components and see if they need replacing.

Andrew

Can I lubricate with some sort of spray to quiet it down, that will not do any harm to the bushings

Thank you for your help

No. YOu can inject grease for temporary relief, or change to something else. Chuck sells poly-bronge bushings that are said to offer the advantages of the stock bushings with less compliance (squish). there are numerous threads on this and I have never seen a complaint. No association....

If you have a street car, you might also consider going back to the stock rubber.
