Smile It was an awsome summer, but now it's time to update!

Hi Guys,

So I've been sniffing around here all this past summer but not posting much. Nice to see such an active place. Always something to read everyday. Too busy driving my car and having fun to post when it's nice out!! So now it's back to my continuing documention of my Pcar's life!
If you don't remember me or my car, look here DUDES!! My Winter projects are DONE!! WOOHOO!! .

So, this summer I did a couple of more upgrades to my Silva girl!

I re-upholstered my seats! My friend Stu give them to another contact of his (dunno who) and it cost me $450 Cdn.
Before;

After;

I got the front windshield replaced. This was tough for me to do since my original windshield still had the original Japanese MOT sticker on it (petina) and the new one wouldn't. But the water stain in the corner was killing me! I also swapped over the wipers to the right (dunno why it is not like this stock). It is SOOOOO nice with a new windshield, and I kept the old one (I dunno why, I just did). My friend Stu (who swapped it) advised that the old one probably leaked water since it had an integrated antenna in it, which was not designed for my car. So water would run down the wire where the antenna was supposed to connect, which is exactly where it stained. No rust found luckily, and not more drips of water inside at all (which was another annoyance).

The old one;

The new one;

I also upgraded to Turbo Tie Rods, but the old ones still looked really good. There was a bit of improvement in streering, but not a heck of alot. While I was at it, I swapped the front brake pads.

My old tie rods/pads;

So over the summer, I went to three tours, and two AX events with my oldest son. But I missed out on the DE this year (next summer for sure!). The PCA/CWR Region is an great group of people! It was so cool meeting other owners. I also went to the Whistler weekend get together, cool stuff

So, now that my car is off the road tomorrow, what are this Winter's projects for me?!?

I'm going to attempt to refinish my Fuchs mags myself. This should be a good side project I guess. I plan on getting some new street tires (I've wore out my rear Yok AVSs after about 25k kms) on my C2 Mags, and some good R Compound like track tires on my Fuchs for track/AX days. I was fully schooled on how much difference tires and pressures can make on AX times. Nuff sed.

Well, I'm quite satisfied with the drive train and power from the engine, so onto the suspension and brakes!!

I'm thinking Boge struts and Koni gas adjustable shocks (since I want them soft for regular city driving and be able to tighten them up during AX and DE), a camber bar and monoballs, and dual piston brake calipers and drilled/vented rotors (Stu mentioned they are 930s I think, bolt on replacement) and new brake lines.

These should keep me occupied over the cold months I guess.

Why do this?!? I dunno?!? I use my car as a diversion from real life. So these frivilous projects should give me some jolllies for a while. Then I'll drive the hell out of it next summer like I did this one.

This car made the season for me.

Take care guys,

.Steven

Buy a ski rack for the P car and drive to Whistler on weekends until next summer.
