r12 system ... Compressor check... Dreaded topic
Have an all original 911 84 targa Coral Red.
AC blowers will not come on. Could be electrical. Refrigerant Leak, or compressor. Want to keep this an R12 system. Read the 101 Projects book on the topic but need some pointers on what to check first... etc. Have an R12 supplier so that is not a problem unless the compressor is shot??? thanks |
Your blower problem is not related to a low refridgerant problem unless someone has added a low pressure switch the stock system. If your compressor is not engaging, check the fuse panel in the trunk for blown fuse and/or fried fuse holder (they deteriorate over time due to the overloaded A/C circuit). Also check the relay in the smuggler's box.

Gotcha, have to get back to my 911 basics, check the electrical first, otherwise check the electrical first. :)

Also check the A/C switch (on the console?) as they also overheat and burnout due to being undersized. Jim
