Pulley and flywheel seal questions

One of my "while you're in there" tasks was to replace the pulley seal. Now, as I've spent some time with the motor, I've got no leak in this vicinity. Should I leave well enough alone? Or, use the opportunity to replace?

BTW, I did replace the seal behind the flywheel, when I put it back in, it ended up recessed past the case surface by 1/8" Is this a problem? All data I see say to go flush, but I got one point a little deep, and then pushed the rest of the seal in to match.

I usually sink these things so they are not where a rubbed depression might be....

Did you feel where the old one was?

If not, you are prob. OK.

The crank didn't seem to have any wear marks, if that's what you mean? I guess I roll the dice....

Any opinion on the pulley seal? Let it ride?

No, the inside - not the crank itself - at least that's what I did.

Yeh - roll

I would leave the pulley seal alone if it is not leaking. If it does start to leak in the future, it is not that big of a job to install a new one.

Thanks David. That's what I was thinking.
