I bought 4 last May for my 1987 Carrera 3.2. Could not find any other major brand with V(?) rating in 15 inch, which are the original Fuchs. I have added about 5000 miles and would be happy to buy them again.

They seem to be the default tire for people seeking nla sizes. I had some on some of my BMW 2002s and my 77 911s. To be honest, I think they suck. Very difficult to get properly balanced on every car I've had. Yes-different tire places too. I've heard this from others as well. It invariably resulted in a shimmy at highway speeds. VERY annoying. In all cases I upped the wheel and tire size and the problem went away with good rubber.

Me no shimmy -- More like dead-steady. Purchased from Tire Rack and had them mounted at North West Frame & Alignment in Indy, where some of the best auto work in the country happens.

I've been wondering about P6000 too, but have found lots of differing opinions about them.

I'm finding it really difficult to get decent tyres for 15 inch wheels. At the moment I've got Dunlop SP9000 on the back, but don't know whether to replace the fronts (currently old Michelins) with Dunlop SP01's or else change the whole lot for pirellis P6000's. The P6000 is about the only performance tyre I can find in the correct size for both front and back wheels, but from what I've read they aren't state of the art compared to more recent designs. So the choice for me seems to be P6000s all round, or else have more modern rubber which is mismatched front and back. Life is hard when you have 15 inch wheels.

As long as you're asking for opinions, wear out what you got, then get all four of the same model and brand. P6000 was the highest speed rated tire in 15 inch available from a mail order tire house in US - TireRack from South Bend, Indiana (home to the Fighting Irish) when I purchased mine last May. Judge for yourself:http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Sizes.jsp?make=Pirelli&model=P6000
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Highest rated maybe, but not a stellar tire. I had some brand new for less than a 1000 miles. I decided to sell the 6's on the '71 and was happy to get rid of the tires. Nothing wrong with them, nothing all that right either. It's just a road tire and if that's all you need, I'd buy them. But, for just road tires, I use Cooper. I like their philosophy. And, US made.

Yeah, I think I will do that, then try the P6000s - thanks. And Happy St. Patick's Day to you too! It's going to be mayhem here next weekend - the streets of Dublin will be awash with Guinness!
