Question 930 long vs short

How much is cut off of a 930 trans to make it a short bellhousing one?

If you use a long bellhousing one, how far back do you have to move the engine?

Thanks for your help!
Todd

Yes, I know but I cant fit the Tilton triple plate clutch and hydraulic throwout bearing in the short bellhousing so I need to use the uncut long belhousing and move the engine/trans back a bit.

I need to know the exact measurement...

76/77 trannys are already short but kinda rare and thus expensive (despite having exactly same internals as newer 930 transmissions).

People like them beacuse they fit in SC bolt-on.

My understanding is that doozer actually needs long bellhouse tranny in order to use Tilton heavy duty clutch, which is kinda pleasent problem. You can probably get two long-bellhousing trannys for a price of one.

This is approximate difference:

Found it:

Quote:
You will have to cut it down ( the bell housing and the input shaft)
about 1.2 inches. the other issue is by cutting it you also cut out the
centering ring on the trans so you will have to fabricate an adapter ring on
the trans to locate it.
got it from other Pelicanite called Steve F.

Project935, yes I will as soon as the Tilton Tech and I figure out what will fit due to the need of a custom flywheel ( 930 to V8 ). I will also document the whole process with photographs and put it on my site..

Thanks
Todd
