Talking Alternator shaft nuts?

I am working on installing a rebuilt Marchal SEV 70 amp (Built in France on dustcap, Ext VR version) alternator I bought from the web. The old alternator in my 1975 porsche 911 was a rebuilt "made in china on the dust cap" with a half inch spacer on it. When I went to install the pulley on the new alternator, the old nut would not fit. The new alternator did not come with one. I searched previous posts and could not determine which nut to get for this Marchal SEV 70 AMP alternator.

Does anyone know what type of nut to get?

Thanks,
Rpettway

That is just info on the alternator: 14volt, 60-70 amp, not sure what the number 71333002 means, manufactured April of 1978

Where can I get that M16X1 Alt. Nut from? I checked everywhere in this small town (autozone, pepboys,Napa) but no luck. Looked on the Pelican Parts website, but they are out of stock. I check the past posts and they are talking about $20 for the nut. Does anybody know where to get one without spending a ton of money?

Thanks!

I haven't called them to verify if they could order it, I just looked at the website and it said "No Longer Available" (A-603-905-00). Do you think if I called they would order one?

Measure the threads and try Search for Metric Hex Nuts.
