Mystery dash control on 911T
Hi,
I'm new to this list having just purchased my 1st Porsche (68 911T). Unfortunately it has no owner's manual and on the dash (just above the cigarette lighter) there is a mysterious black lever that spins horizontally. I thought it might direct airflow but it seems to make no difference. Can anyone shed any light on its funtion (also where I can get a good deal on a replacement owner's manual)? Thanks, Warren. |

The lever controls airflow. While driving flip the switch and you will feel air come through the vent on top of the dash. It's possible the control may not work anymore. For a manual Pelican has them http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/911E/POR_911E_documt_pg1.htm#item5, if not in stock or if it's pricey try e-bay for a used one.

Hi BD,
Thanks for taking the time to respond. Indeed it appears to be broken as it doesn't seem to make a difference to the airflow - but I couldn't find a replacement on Pelican (also tried your link but it takes me to their tech docs page). I'll keep scanning ebay. Thanks Again.
